A long-anticipated healthcare project is moving forward in the Globe-Miami community, as construction begins this week on Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center’s Highway 60 Clinic, a walk-in and primary care facility along U.S. 60 near Cal Ranch and Walmart.

This new facility is designed to expand access to convenient, non-emergent medical care for residents of all ages, addressing one of the region's most pressing healthcare needs.

The clinic will offer a comprehensive range of services, including walk-in care and scheduled primary care appointments, providing a vital alternative for non-emergency medical concerns. By reducing reliance on emergency services for minor illnesses and injuries, this clinic aims to enhance the community's overall healthcare experience.

The state-of-the-art facility will span 4,500 square feet and feature five exam rooms and one treatment room, fully equipped to support both walk-in and scheduled care. The clinic will offer an array of services, such as family practice, treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, X-ray services, and expanded laboratory services. Additionally, residents can expect annual wellness visits, women's wellness services, preventative care, and industrial medicine — all in one accessible location.

One of the standout benefits of the new clinic will be its extended hours, offering after-hours and weekend care to ensure that healthcare is available when it is most needed. This initiative reflects a significant investment in local healthcare access and has been years in the making, navigating various regulatory, site, and planning requirements to bring this vision to fruition.

"We have dedicated considerable time and effort to its development, and it is gratifying to see construction commence on a project that will significantly enhance access to care throughout our region," says Neal Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center.

With an estimated completion timeline of nine to 12 months, the community can look forward to a facility that not only meets their immediate healthcare needs but also fosters strong connections to specialty and hospital-based care when necessary. This new walk-in and primary care clinic represents a promising step toward better healthcare for the Globe-Miami community and sets the stage for a healthier future for its residents.
